Post Battlestar Galactica
I'll be the first to admit I'm quite picky when it comes to my sci-fi. I give most things sci-fi and fantasy a shot, but I've no tolerance whatsoever for bad sci-fi. I couldn't get into any Trek after TNG, and Babylon 5 along with all Stargate derivatives failed to hold my interest.

It was only a spell of grand boredom that forced me to set aside my trepidation regarding this remake of a series I barely remember from childhood.

It consists thus far of a miniseries, and three seasons. I watched the miniseries, and was immediately kicking myself for not having the first season on hand. I rectified that situation as quickly as possible, and made sure I had ready access to season two and three as well. I finished all three seasons in about two weeks.

The series has a rather dystopian outlook, with humanity plagued from the outset by all its previous missteps and current failings, which is an thread the series thankfully never attempts to escape.

Give it a shot, if you're up for a rather dark and unforgiving study of humanity. Personally, I love it, and will be waiting patiently for season four.
