Post How I Spent My Summer Vacation
I've been making my students answer this question all week. Most say "I did club activity at school every day and studied math." Then I ask "What did you enjoy this summer vacation?" Then they look at me with a big WTF face like the freakshow foreigner that I clearly am. Then they say "I saw fireworks. They were very beautiful."

So! Whose summer was more awesome than that?! I know mine was. I went to America, romped around with with my family, friends, and dearest spite folk for the first time in a whole damn year. And ate loads of red meat while I had the chance. Dark Knight rocked, a 70's dance party found me dancing on a bar, and I spent lots of time on airplanes letting my ass atrophy (ok, that was less awesome, but no vacation is perfect).

There was also guitar playing on the beach, moonlighting as a bar tender, and chocolate martinis with monkey faces drawn on them in chocolate syrup.

And I saw fireworks. They were very beautiful.

So my summer vacation rocked! What the hell did YOU do?

Spitecon was ALL I DID! Nothing else! It was awesome enough to make up for the lack of other stuff. :)

Don't lie! I bet you masturbated LOADS and played with kitties. And possibly went out to breakfast once! Those are noteworthy activities!

My summer sucked and was a completely forgettable time with the stark exception of SpiteCon.

Oh, fine!

Yes, there was much fapping, and while at SpiteCon, I got to finally meet my internet womancakes, whom I've been with for a few years and had never groped in person. I also wrote a bash script journal that I'd been meaning to do for a while, made webcomics occasionally, and wrote a story about ponies that I am currently illustrating.

I also shaved my head, got drunk, rode a dog and spread lies. ACTION PACKED!

Hooray! Now THAT'S a summer! :D

And Sancho gets hugs, and a laser surgery to erase the memories of the whole summer except for SpiteCon.

This summer I spent 6 frustrating weeks trying to find work, going into University probably far more often than was necessary to check for results. I eventually obtatined work in a second hand electronics store where I dropped about $1000 of merchandise on the floor daily, was payed to go to a festival and get drunk and got accused of stealing by a scruff. I also bought a stack of second hand porn from a fat guy and his mum.

I went to London to obtain a visa on the hottest day of the year and spent far too long in camden buying cool trousers with all pockets and shit. I also spent far too much money.

THEN I moved to America; learned that sometimes not getting into a massive screaming match with somebody twice a week is possible and generally became happier.

Also an internet boy became a real life boyfriend (imagine!)
That's pretty cool too.

I worked in a chemical plant for most of the summer, providing a ghastly foreshadowing of how I am probably going to spend a pretty large chunk of my working life. Then I travelled to the desert of California where I spent a rather wonderful two weeks with the enchanting Madame Moose, who I miss like crazy. You've all read the recap. I'm going to go ahead and call it a pretty damn good summer.

There were no fireworks though. :(
