I don't post here often, but I have just finished reading Day of the Triffids and had to tell someone about it.
What a fucking excellent book. Completely absorbing, well imagined, two-parts fantasy to one-part believable, made more captivating by the distance from modern times and reality that only a classic piece of sci-fi can have.
Has anyone else read it?

It's worth shelling out for. You really begin to wonder how you'd react if the events in the book came about.
