Go to the Connections window and highlight the first name on the list. Now press the Edit button. 6. Now you will be in the Connections preferences menu. 7. Under Server: click the Select button. 8. On the Network pull down choose fdfnet. Then press the Ok button. 9. Now find and select the Server Name you just created and click the Select button. 10. You should be back in the Connection Preference window. Now it is time to fill out some information. a. Nickname: This is the name everyone will see you as, so choose accordingly. Note that common nicknames are usually already registered to someone else on the server, so you may wish to choose something distinctive, yet not overly long or annoying. b. User name: You need to put something in this blank. c. Password: It has nothing to do with a registered nick so I usually leave it blank. d. Real Name: It is your name. e. Invisible: Check this option. This doesn't make you truly invisible to other users, but it will stop people from other channels from being able to scan the channel you're in and come up with your nickname. 11. Click the Ok button. 12. Press the Connect button on the Connections window. If you have connected successfully, you will see text scrolling by in the Status window. 13. Go up to the top and press the Commands menu. Click Join. (Apple + J) Under Channel type #spite. Press Ok. 14. Click in the text input window to type messages and press enter to send them. 15. When you are finished chatting just press the disconnect button in the Connections window.
